Children at St Mary’s Kindergarten, Lower School and Senior School fully embraced Children in Need 2023 on Friday 17 November, raising in excess of £1,400 to help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people around the UK.

The Lower School had a spotty non-uniform day and held their annual Pudsey Bear Raffle, giving the girls the chance to win one of the highly sought-after handmade Pudseys.

Student scholars at St Mary’s Senior School organised a fundraising non-uniform day, encouraging the girls to wear clothes representing something they love. The girls combined their cookery and creative skills and held a Children in Need bake sale, along with fun competitions throughout the day.

Mrs Nicola Griffiths, Principal said “Pupils at St Mary’s are keen to be involved in their communities and to give their support to charities. Children in Need is just one of many charity-led events that St Mary’s School participates in. Several thousands pounds in donations are raised every year by St Mary’s families. Fundraising activities are student-led members of the Charities Committee at the Lower School and by a range of student leaders at the Senior School, including the House Officials, Round Square Committee and Miss Comrie Scholars”.
