Senior School Sports Report wc 20 June 2022

Tuesday 21 June – Year 7 rounders Central Venue at Thurstable School

Our first match was against TLA and Lottie, Saffie and Sophia managed to score a full rounder each and this lead to win our first match 5-3.5. Our second match was against CCHS and even though Lottie got an amazing catch and caught someone out we finished the game 1-7.5 . Our third and final match which decided whether we were going to come third or fourth in the district was against Philip Morant and we did great. Lottie and Amelie were able to get a full rounder and we also did some good fielding we finished the match with a win of 4.5-2, playing us third!

Wednesday 22 June – Year 9 rounders at Colchester County High School for Girls

On Wednesday a group of Year 9s competed in a rounders tournament. We won two out of three of their matches and came second overall. We showed excellent team work skills in both batting and fielding and scored some great rounders. We beat TLA 3.5-3 and St Benedict’s 3.5 -2.5 in the pools but lost to CCHSG in the final.

Thursday 23 June – Sports Leaders at Year 3 and Year4 Lower School Sports Day

Sports Leaders finished their leadership of several district primary events with the Lower School Sports Day – 10 Sports leaders helped to officiate the track & field events for the Y3 and Y4 sports day. It is great to see how they have developed over the year, with several students not only officiating but offering support and encouragement to the athletes.
