Reading in lockdown

7 January 2021

Just reminding everyone to keep up the reading as it’s good for mind, body and soul regardless of age and at any time but particularly now!

As usual I have several large piles of books in every room but the one book that is moving around with me at the moment is A Face Like Glass by Frances Hardinge. Initially I was daunted by its length – almost 500 pages – but it’s proved to be escapist fantasy at its best and I’m struggling to put it down. Mask wearing and facial expression is key to the plot, so I think I’m identifying with it in many ways that weren’t envisaged when it was published in 2012!

It’s complex so may not be the book for all but it’s highly recommended for keen readers… of all ages.
