Carina’s UKMT competition success

We are extremely proud of Carina who is the first girl from St Mary’s to get through to the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust’s Pink Kangaroo Round! This competition is the follow-on round to the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge for which entry is by invitation only. Carina completed the very tricky 60-minute, multiple-choice paper of 25 problems on Thursday 19 March.
“The Pink Kangaroo was a very challenging paper.” said Carina in Year 10, “Some questions were particularly hard, and it definitely put my maths knowledge to the test, but it was very enjoyable and I had a lot of fun doing it!”
Each participant will receive a Certificate of Qualification and the top-scoring 25% each receive a Certificate of Merit.
