Year 1 and 3 pupils ‘knighted’ by author of ‘Good Knight, Bad Knight’!

On Thursday 7 November, Year 1 and 2 pupils visited Colchester Library. They learnt about the activities the library provides and explored the huge range of books, films and CDs they are able to borrow. The girls were encouraged to pick a book which they liked the look of, and talk about it in their groups. They read aloud from different books and discussed their favourite authors. The girls arrived back at school full of enthusiasm for reading, ready for the inter Reading Challenge!

During the afternoon, author and illustrator Tom Knight visited the School to talk about his book ‘Good Knight, Bad Knight’. He read to the girls and showed them how to create their own family crest! Tom ‘knighted’ the girls and they all swore to keep the Chivalric code, of always being kind!
