Girl in a classroom at Prep Class At St Mary's Colchester in Essex

Plasticology workshop and assembly

4 March 2019

Helping to educate our Lower School pupils on the issue of plastic consumption and how it is detrimental to the environment, was the aim of an exciting and engaging assembly and workshop delivered by Ros Day-Williams, from Essex Wildlife Trust on Monday 4 March.

On the subject of ‘Plasticology’, Ros talked to the pupils and staff all about the impact plastic has on wildlife and the environment and shared ideas on what choices and changes people can make to help. The girls were very knowledgeable and shared their own suggestions with gusto!

The workshop was centred on the topic of recycling – teaching the classes from Prep to Year 4 how to reduce, reuse, recycle and repair. Eco activities continued, with the chance for the girls to get involved in an Eco Recycled Art Competition. We look forward to finding out who won next week!
