ESU Public Speaking Competition Success

16 January 2019

Representing St Mary’s, Year 9 students Jamelia (Questioner), Molly (Speaker) and Alannah (Chairperson) participated in the Colchester Heat of the English Speaking Union (ESU) Churchill Public Speaking Competition on Tuesday 15 January. Up against strong opposition from Colchester County High School for Girls, Colchester Royal Grammar School and Philip Morant, the team performed extremely well. Particular congratulations to Molly who won ‘Most Outstanding Personality’ with her speech on “Fiction can teach us more than fact”.
