Junior Literary Festival – day three… Kes Gray reduced me to tears. Caused by laughter and slight distress at the number of crumbs (long story but our visitors and girls and in Years 4 to 6 will understand).
Kes told me that when he writes his books he thinks of the adults who may be reading them too, so he tries to entertain on multiple levels with humour being the uniting factor. That certainly came across in the imaginative and entertaining stories Kes shared with us.
Most of the younger girls knew the story of Billy’s Bucket but Kes’s bucket added a visual and delightful twist. Ingenious!
