Coastal processes and management techniques were considered by Year 7 geographers when they visited Walton-on-the-Naze on 15 June.
The purpose of the trip was to collect data for their mini geographical investigation and the students carried out a series of experiments, including profiling the beach, testing the direction and speed of longshore drift, wave counts and sediment analysis.
They also learnt how to construct a well-annotated field sketch and were rewarded for their hard work with an ice-cream!
