A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen at St Mary’s Independent Senior School for an enthusiastic, passionate Maths Teacher/Maths Teacher and Pastoral Phase Lead for Years 10/11 and Transition onto Sixth Form. We are a highly successful independent day school for girls aged 3-16 years and boys aged 3-4 years situated on the outskirts of Colchester in Essex. St Mary’s is a member of the Girls’ Schools Association, the Independent Association of Prep Schools and the prestigious Round Square organisation.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, dynamic, and suitably qualified teacher, or Maths/Maths related graduate, who has a passion for mathematics and is excited by teaching and learning developments. They will also be a strong leader who can motivate teachers within their team to produce a cohesive department. The successful applicant will also be committed to the provision of strong and nurturing pastoral support, appreciating the strong link between pupil well-being and attainment as this is a key priority of St Mary’s.

This unique opportunity invites the successful applicant to work with other members of the Faculty in leading specific initiatives and projects combined with leading on the social, and emotional development of young people in years 10 & 11. This rewarding responsibility also provides an opportunity to support students in making a positive transition to develop, grow and enrich their lives beyond their education at St Mary’s.
