Year 3 girls have the honour of meeting King Charles III

As part of their school trip to Colchester Castle, the Year 3 pupils were invited to welcome King Charles III and The Queen Consort during their visit to Colchester, to mark its new-found city status. On Tuesday 7 March the girls proudly waved their handmade Union Jack flags and along with parents, grandparents and school staff, passed on flowers and drawings to the royal couple as part of a welcoming party. BBC Essex Radio was covering the event and interviewed the girls, their parents and teachers for their thoughts on this historical occasion.
After all the excitement, the girls finished their educational trip with a visit to Hollytrees Museum, before heading back to school to share the news of their truly memorable day when they met the King!
