Both of Helen’s daughters attended St Mary’s Lower and Senior School and she feels they had the most wonderful, happy education. Over the years Helen have enjoyed helping out at the school in various voluntary roles and Forest School she feels was most definitely a highlight.
Helen’s eldest daughter Jess is studying Forensic Science at Lincoln University and wishes to become a forensic anthropologist. Helen’s younger daughter Emily was Head Girl during her time at St Mary’s and left in 2020. Emily was part of St Mary’s Round Square Committee and had the opportunity to visit India for a Round Square International Conference. Emily is now studying Acting at Colchester Institute as well as with a leading stage and screen school.
Helen has worked with children in some way since qualifying as a nursery nurse at college 30 years ago. In the last four years she has specialised in helping to combat stress and anxiety in both adults and children. With Helen’s experience of coaching and supporting members of an emergency services charity, she is used to dealing with welfare issues and crisis management. She is also trained in mental health first aid and a variety of therapies, and utilises a range of techniques and has a real passion for overall mental wellbeing and active mindfulness.
