Our Year 11s have had a busy start to the new academic year with a Geography field trip to Taunton and surrounding areas in Somerset. Day 1 saw an early start from school, so the students were pleased to arrive at the Field Studies Council’s Nettlecombe Court to explore their accommodation. A tour of the centre followed, with the group getting involved in a mini study of fluvial land forms and micro climates. The rest of the visit promises to be equally as action packed fieldwork investigating river channel processes of the River Horner and an urban investigation in Taunton to discover spatial changes in land use and characteristics with distance from the CBD.
We look forward to hearing all about what they have learnt on their return to school on Tuesday.
