Junior Literary Festival visiting author – John Harris

Although storyteller John Harris is booked to speak to Year 7 only on the afternoon of Thursday 21 June as part of the Junior Literary Festival, he will have the following books with him if anyone else is interested. The Geat – the story of Beowulf and Grendel

This story (but not the book!) is at least a thousand years old. “It’s the grizzly and gruesome story of Beowulf, the only warrior brave enough to take on the monstrous Grendel. Perhaps the original horror story.”

The Pearl in the Grass

A very old tale from China with themes of courage and loyalty, and one of John’s most popular stories, either told or written.
