It is beginning to feel very festive here at St Mary’s! Our Kindergarten, Lower School and Senior School children were treated to a surprise visit from some reindeers on 28 November. The Reindeer Hire Company brought along Mabel and Bubble to our Copford and Lexden Road sites for the students to get up close to and find out more about these lovely animals. That afternoon Miss Jones, Director of the Senior School and Head Girls Esme and Holly had the important job of decorating our beautiful Christmas tree in the entrance to the Senior School – what a fantastic job they’ve done!

Our Year 7 girls had a great time celebrating a successful first term at the Senior School and the start of the festive season at a Christmas party with their Year 8 buddies on 29 November. The girls enjoyed spending time together singing and dancing, exchanging gifts, playing party games and eating a tasty lunch.

Every girl joining in Year 7 is paired up with a girl from the year above – her ‘buddy’ – who befriends her throughout her time at the school and is always available to help and support her.

Pupils, friends, families and staff continued the festivities at the St Mary’s Christmas Bazaar.  There were a number of festive stalls including a chocolate hamper raffle, guess the weight of the Christmas cake, face painting and even a festive photo booth!  Our Gardening Club were selling homemade chutneys, flavoured vinegars and oils as well as home-grown pot plants – all lovely gifts!
