ABBY ‘SHINES’ TO COMPLETE 26 MILE OVERNIGHT WALK!

Over £1100 has been raised for Cancer Research UK by determined Year 10 student Abby who completed the Shine Night Walk, a 26 mile overnight walk through London on 24 September. The event saw fundraisers lighting up London wearing bright clothes and lights on the marathon length walk from Southwark Park to Old Billingsgate.

Abby, who completed the walk with her mum, reached the finish line in just under nine hours. “The hardest part was the last six miles”, said Abby. “My feet were really painful by that time. I felt tired for days afterwards!”

Abby and her mum were inspired to take part in the walk after loved ones were affected by cancer. Their efforts paid off as they raised over £1100, placing them in the top 5% of fundraisers.
