During the final years of the Early Years Foundation Stage in our Prep class we cover the six areas of learning.
These are:
1) Personal, social and emotional development
2) Communication, language and literacy
3) Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
4) Knowledge and understanding of the world
5) Physical Development
6) Creative development
All of these areas are equally important and depend on each other to support a rounded approach to child development. The areas are delived through planned, purposeful play with a balance of adult-led and child initiated activities.
Our scheme of work consists of topics which provide a vehicle for delivering the Early Learning Goals and Educational Programme. The topics enable us to deliver a creative and balanced curriculum.
