Joining St. Mary's School
Pupils enter the Lower School at the age of 4 when they join the Preparatory Class, or 5 if they join in Year 1. They join the Senior School at the age of 11. However, there may be places for children wishing to join at other ages.
Younger children are invited to attend the school’s informal ‘Kitten Club’ before they join the Preparatory Class, to familiarise themselves with the school and to help them feel more settled.
Open days are held in the Autumn and Spring terms, and personal tours with the Principal are available throughout the year. Girls are also invited for taster days as part of the admissions process.
Those admitted at 11 are expected to sit the Year 7 Assessment Test and attend an interview. The Assessment Test for entry to St. Mary's in September 2012, has taken place, however parents wishing to make enquiries about a Year 7 place are invited to contact the registrar as soon as posssible.
Scholarships for Year 7 entry may also be available, further details can be found in the prospectus or from the school office.
If you would like to visit the school, please complete the Enquiry Form on the contact us page stating 'Admissions school visit' in the enquiry box or
