Lower School Eco Art Competition

Over the Easter break, Lower School pupils were invited to take part in an exciting Eco Art Competition as part of our ‘Waste Week’.  They had the choice of either designing a sculpture or a poster, using only recycled materials from around their homes. Mrs Stanhope, Director of the Lower School presented the winners with their certificates in assembly on Monday 30 April.

Infants’ first place was awarded to Gabriela, Year 2 for her ‘Eco Owl’, with Jessica, in the Preparatory Class and Audrey, Year 1 in second and third.

Lower Juniors’ first place was awarded to Hayley, Year 4 for her piece ‘Crocodile Caught in Rubbish’, with Niamh, Year 4 and Tiasha, Year 3 in joint second and Martha-Louise, Year 3 and Amelia, Year 4 in joint third. Highly commended awards were given to Olivia and Georgina both in Year 3.

The Upper Juniors’ winner was Anya, Year 6 for her ‘Sewing Roll’, joint second place was awarded to Alice, Year 5 and Lexi, Year 6 with Emily, Year 6 and Lily, Year 5 coming in joint third place. Highly commended awards went to Mia, Year 6 and Lucy, Year 5.

 

Mrs Pritchard, St Mary’s Lower School Eco-coordinator was delighted with the innovative and creative entries, with many demonstrating a clear eco message.
