A Chinese feast was whipped up by our Year 9 girls and Year 10 Food and Nutrition GCSE students on Wednesday 21 March when a Ming-Ai (London) Institute Healthy Chinese Cuisine Ambassador and a representative from project partner, Lee Kum Keecame to St Mary’s to give a lively demonstration of how to cook Kung Pao Chicken.

The students turned their hands to producing this classic Chinese dish themselves, which included important prep techniques such as de-boning chicken thighs, chopping and marinating. The final dishes looked delicious!

Kelly Meiessaar from Ming-Ai and Julienne Boudard from Lee Kum Kee announced Year 9 students Laura and Grace as the winners of the Ming-Ai Chinese Cookery Competition they entered back in December. They were awarded a lovely panda soft toy as their prize, with all the participants receiving a goody bag which included a year’s supply of Lee Kum Kee sauces, an apron, recipe book and a set of chop sticks Well done girls!
