Computer programs are a part of modern life – where would we be without them? Computer Science lessons at St Mary’s aim to give students an understanding of creating well-structured, reusable code on the latest systems and devices, applicable in a wide variety of situations and environments. Students have the use of two computer science suites equipped with recently upgraded technology, plus a mini-suite.
Years 7 to 9
All students have a weekly Computer Science lesson in which they learn the architecture of computers and basic programming techniques.
Computer Science is an optional subject at GCSE. The course followed is Edexcel.
